She was born November 15, 1932 in Surrey. Both of Petula Sally Olwen Clark's parents were nurses but her father secretly wanted to be an actor and her mother was said to be a natural singer.

A banner year for the cartoon family, The Simpsons. Bart and family showed up for the first time as a series of short animated segments on The Tracey Ullman Show.
It was also the year that actor Pierce Brosnan won and then lost the role of "James Bond". NBC had put his series Remington Steele on hiatus for six months, then unexpectedly renewed it, forcing Brosnan to back out of the film. NBC then canceled Remington Steele
