Drive-In Movies were all the rage in 1950 and Judy Holliday was proving she hadn’t been “Born Yesterday” when it came to acting. She took home an Oscar that year.
The movie Bright Leaf starred Patricia Neal and Gary Cooper, who were in the end days of a star-crossed affair in real life. They had fallen in love while making The Fountainhead in 1949, but Cooper’s wife refused to divorce him. Neal had a breakdown when she and Cooper broke up in 1952.
