At the Academy Awards..
Oscar was 10 years old and the Best Picture award was known as the “Outstanding Production” award. It was the last year for the Best Assistant Director award (given to Robert Webb for In Old Chicago).
Walt Disney Productions won a special Oscar for the design of the Multi-Plane Camera used extensively for the first animated feature-length film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Mack Sennett won a special award for his “lasting contribution” to comedy on screen, and Edgar Bergen won an Oscar for creating “Charlie McCarthy”!
